1. Descriptive
The photograph I took of Church St in Burlington, VT is descriptive because it shows Church St's essence and makes them want to go there to shop and experience it all.
2. Explanatory
This photo by Terry Barrett explains how running works and how each foot will leave the ground at different times to show the movement going on while a person runs.
3. Interpretive
This photo by Sallie Mann is able to be interpreted in many different where a viewer can question if that's a real cigarette or if it's candy and if she is with other people/kids or she's alone.
4. Aesthetically Evaluative
This photo by me can be seen as a way to show the beauty of Burlington, Vermont, and how nature has ways of creating a peaceful environment based on the way that the mountains are and soaking in the realness of it all.
5. Ethically Evaluative
This photo taken by me shows the real side of college and how students will go to a student center or battle the workload in order to be able to manage their life, school, and scholarships.
6. Theoretical
This image by Gestalt is a theoretical image because the use of exposure and capturing movement as still life gave a creative nature to the image and brings it to life because it reels in people's senses.
Multimodal Presentation
Synapse of Multimodal Presentation:
For my presentation, I chose to interpret Sallie Mann's work. She is a well-known photographer who only photographs on film in which she tells stories through her work. She has photographed a vast variety of images and images, whether it be family, the body, the south, or even battlefields. She captures the natural beauty of moments and things you would have to deeply invest in to see the meaning behind them. The images I chose have given a very good variety and depiction of her work from battlefields to family relatiomships.
New Perception of Photography:
The work of Sallie Mann has given me a new light on photography styles. My best work has been on film, so I wanted to give her work a look to see if I can broaden my variety of taking pictures on film. She widened my range of storytelling and the ability to express deep meanings through simple photos and different types of film. Film photography can also be used to manipulate point of view in a new light where you can bring in different perspectives side by side and leave the meaning up for interpretation.
